According to the magazine, Seilas (Sailing), King Harald will assist with the training of young Norwegian sailing talent. The King has offered to contribute as a coach, and also offered to make his sailing boat available for training exercises.
Yachting editor Mikkel Thommessen said: "Jeg tror han vil være en god pedago." (I think he will be a good teacher.)
King Harald is an avid sailor and has represented Norway on several occasions in national and international sailing competitions. In 1987 King Harald and his crew won the World Championships, and in 2005 they won the European Championships. The King has participated in three Olympic Games as part of the Norwegian sailing team in Tokyo in 1964, Mexico in 1968, and in Munich in 1972.
King Harald's father was also an avid sailor, and was part of a winning crew in the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
